Minister's Letter
by Rev Jan Mahannah
Dear Ones,
I received a publication from a colleague Rev. Gene
Sorensen. I want to share a part of it with you. I have been
practicing his suggestions and they are truly making a difference in
my day-to-day living, as I live with greater inner peace and
harmony.
"Have you ever thought about how peacefully and free
Jesus moved among the people? He was being stressed from without,
for what He said angered them so much that they led Him to the edge
of a cliff to throw Him down. Luke only says that "He passed
through the midst of them and went on His way." He was
centered and poised in His peace and that perfect peace was His
inner experience. Yet today, what Jesus said to them that made
them so angry, fills us with joy and celebration, or should! "The
Spirit of the Lord is upon me," Jesus said. "Because He has
anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to
proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind,
to let the oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s
favor." I believe this is the invitation for each of us as
we express our spiritual Truths and live in alignment with our
divine purpose and direction.
Can you move through your days with grace and ease,
feeling peaceful and free inside while you live an active and
productive life? You can IF you begin your day centered in
your true Self and live conscious of your spiritual center while
circumstances ‘whirl’ around you. No matter how many times you are
interrupted or have things happen which take your energies and your
time, you can return to your focus on the good goals God has guided
you to choose. IF you use your distractions as points of awareness
to energize and redirect you, you will get back on track much easier
and still get done all that needs to be done by you.
What do you imagine Jesus was thinking as the crowd
responded negatively to Him? Whatever He was thinking, it was His
thoughts that enabled Him to move peacefully on His way in spite of
the crowds' negative reaction to Him. What makes YOUR day smooth and
orderly? Think those thoughts most of the time and you will
experience your life events fitting together in an harmonious
pattern."
May this Fall be a time of your gaining a greater
degree of inner peace. If you set your intention to recognize that
you use your distractions as points of awareness to energize and
redirect you, they most certainly will.
Join us in our Sunday Services as we collectively
study spiritual Truth that indeed will set us free and enable us to
"bring good news to the poor... to proclaim release to the
captives... and recovery of sight or the blind... to let the
oppressed go free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor." It
is time and it is NOW.
Blessings, Rev. Jan Mahannah
